Bard SongA Poem by Xanthous CrowFor a friend who enjoys role playing.'Lo! Come! Hear my song about dragon bones,
How ages have passed and they've turned to stone, From an era where the world was filled with vibrant light, Oh, how we lost those flickering fires, snuffed out in the night, These nights grow darker and colder, While we turn feeble and grow older, Where hath the great dragon fire gone? Blazing flame the color of the dawn? Masters of the clouds and sky, Have these wyrms fled the earth to die? Winter is coming and we can't escape the chill, And here we flock to this tavern, our mugs with ale to fill, By this fire, we're wasting away, Look at us! Weren't we brave adventurers back then, someday? Alas! How have the might kings been downed, This song, this song about dragon bones, lying 'neath the ground.... © 2013 Xanthous Crow |
