Age of Aggression

Age of Aggression

A Poem by Xanthous Crow
"

......... . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . .. .. . . . . . . . . . . ..

"
What had happened to this world we live in?
Where did the happiness fly?
And the respect?
They're long lost now -
Buried beneath the concrete.
Rotting corpses that stink and attract flies,
Governments with their lies and smiles and bright eyes -
Men who condemn their own to die in lonely graves,
Far from home,
Blown to bits.
This is an age of aggression,
Get on it.
Kill your neighbor,
Kill your friends,
This is an age of aggression,
Why are you thinking?
They have what you want,
They must die!
What had happened to love?
Is that its pelt I see,
Wrapped around the shambling horrors,
Those mockeries of love that are too numerous these days?
We live in an age of aggression and it'll end with a bang.
Go grab your shades
'Cause the sky is gonna get bright.
