DarknessA Poem by Xanthous Crow
You hawk about the light,
Its radiance in your skin, The warmth caressing your face, Of the burning summer sun. To you, the dark is something to destroy, Something evil, Cruel, Vile, Something to be feared. It blots out your sight, Clouds your mind, Makes your heart race, You lose yourself in the shade, little dove. But for some of us, It is home, A place of comfort, We know it well. Because without the light, There would be no dark, And without the dark, No light. Maybe it is time for these, Sun-deprived albino eyes, To be brought back into it, Or drown in darkness. © 2012 Xanthous Crow |
