Flight of the Raven

Flight of the Raven

A Poem by Xanthous Crow
"

Saw some birds today on my windowsill. Guess it inspired me.

"
I wandered a winding autumn road

Littered with leaves

A hidden place where few followed

With numerous birds waiting in the hallowed trees

There did I see them all take flight

Creatures of every color and shape and size

Scatter wildly into the night

The air echoing with their cries

Did you hear that? Hark!

Was that an owl?

No, no, I believe that was a lark

Then do I see blackbirds on the prowl

Clouds of ravens, amazed I am to see

Mighty and proud and regal

Fleeing, leaving me mystified, beneath that tree

Ever watchful

To see that mighty sight again, I yearned

But none of those ravens - beautiful beasts! - returned

Loved it, it's just you're the crow, watching all others from a point of view, observing them, as a birdy man. Thanks for the new inspiring insights.
