Side-line Boy

Side-line Boy

A Poem by Xanthous Crow
"

Raised from a conversation with a friend, about people.

"
I am the side-line boy.
The face you see on the train,
In your stores,
At the mall,
On the street,
At your church --
The face you see so often that it blends to static.
Forgettable. Nonthreatening. A stranger.
Don't pay me any mind,
I don't like your attention.
Yet I need it -
I need it.
I crave attention,
From anybody or anything -
Do anything to get it.
I need help,
I need help,
I'm not okay.
I'm not alright.
But you ignore me.
I am a side-line boy.
You see us all the time,
On the television,
In the news.
We're the ones that are dangerous,
The faces of killers,
Of shooters -
Of "lost kids", or "losers".
You better duck, m**********r.

Xanthous Crow
I know this might touch a sore spot with people. Know that I'm not advocating any sort of violence, I am merely trying to convey thoughts and feelings on a subject I am interested in.
