Star-Wounded Land

Star-Wounded Land

A Poem by Xanthous Crow
"

Little fairy tale dream.

"
I dreamt that I was in a far-off land
Atop my horse

I wore armor
And bore a sword

And across the land I rode
In search of you, my lady

Imprisoned in a tower
By something evil

The land was wounded by falling stars
The hills were perilous

The sky above was many shades of color
Always changing

But they were always deep
And saturated; dark

Until the moon shone on me
As did the light of a falling star

And I saw that I was not a knight
And your tower was empty
