Oath

Oath

A Poem by Xanthous Crow
"

Oath [oth]: the form of words in which such a statement or promise is made.

"
I took the oath
You took the vow
Together atop that altar
Where the world was nothing around us
You gave me your love
I gave you nothing
And then I broke that oath
I broke that vow
With a knife that slid between your ribs
I laughed at the notion
"'Til death do us part" -
Then why are you still here?
