WHAT HAS GONE WRONG

This poem provokes the reader to think about the ironic nature of the problems or social ills of different spheres of our social lives.

Where did we go wrong?

Did we put our treasury in the hands of pilferers and larcenists?

How come manslayers and assassins were put in charge of our security?

Can the wolf be our shepherd?

Why did we ask atheists and nihilists to lead our churches?

Isn’t it a head-scratcher that some nation wreckers rather became national leaders?

Isn’t it also puzzling that the medical Doctor was asked to manage the mortuary while the diener (morgue worker) goes to the medical consulting room?

Can our women find love in celebrated Casanova’s?

Oh...how could we leave our cherished kids in the care of paedophiles?

Does it really make sense for benighted personalities to head our academic institutions?

Something must be going wrong!

Oh yes, something did go wrong and you said it clearly in your words.
Not sure if I would classify your words as a poem. It feels more like a statement. A big question for all to read and understand.
Yes, things need to be done about all you said. And, with hope and love I do believe that changes can be made.
Interesting line in-between all your lines.. "Can a wolf be our shepherd?"...The old saying goes.. a wolf hiding in sheeps clothing...so my immediate answer is no...
This is something that many are not aware of..Especially the young. Hopefully, the young are protected by their parents..but that doesn't always happen..
I respect views and find them interesting...

We need better Leaders. We need problem solvers, we need leaders with compassion who will do their best for the people they serve.
