SummerA Poem by Daniel WojtachFourth and final poem on the seasons.Summer is always happy to see The beautiful job her dear twin has done Bringing the land its potential To bear its lively children
Summer has a strong connection With her fatherly Sun so dear And always asks he stay to speak While she works her way with the land
Summer is an amiable season Keeping relations with her sister Her Oceanic cousins, her father, mother And her Starry aunts and uncles
Each one stays around Shares a laugh or a song and dance Letting Summer carry their doubts away As the night air calms their nerves
Summer likes the world to be warm She loves the movement of the world The endless rhythms of life Calling out from every direction
Summer is a physical season Running with the deer Or swimming with the young salmon Wishing she could fly with the birds above
The new power and activity Forced into the world by Summers antics Are the final climax Before everything slows down once more
Because all this energy and song The heat and the moisture Force young Autumn out of her bed with time Before she is up and about with the land
Summer brings all things to their climax But also teaches the virtue of patience Quiet nights with the crickets And the Stars above to tell their stories
Summer keeps her hair free Lets it fly as she does her work Going here and there to wake everyone up And give them a good time before they sleep once more
She slows the world down Just enough so that young Autumn Can keep control when she's all alone When Summer has to depart
Though she loves her job Summer knows the world has to be cold And turns it over to her siblings Waiting for the party to start again © 2013 Daniel Wojtach |
