SpringA Poem by Daniel WojtachA poem discussing the season of Spring.Spring enters the world With a shake of her brothers hand A quick chat before he leaves to rest And sleep off his workload
With soil reborn And a song ready to be sung Spring sets about her dance Bringing life where her feet hit the ground
Spring spreads the wildflowers Coaxes the seeds into giving birth once more Wraps the ivy around the fences and walls Rejuvenates trees and restores leaves
Spring is a frantic, mercurial season She throws a dandelion to the wind And races the seeds to the resting place Watching as they take root
Spring leaves her arms bare Dances with the sun on her skin Lets her voice call the birds home From where young Autumn chased them
Spring calls the rainclouds Shouts the thunder into being The storms fuel her energy Pushes her plants to grow and grow and grow
Spring gets bitten by mosquitoes And bites them back She pokes the bees until they return to action Marches the rhythm back to the ants
The work of Spring is rampant Color sprays every direction Life itself reaches out for her touch The beasts and birds call as they retake their homes
It is a time where sound does not end The songs of nature and growth crescendo But the sleeping seasons do not wake Only hearing the slightest through their dreams
Spring is a beautiful season Her eyes shine with the green of new foliage Her skin tanned beneath the powerful sun Her strength endless from years of her dance
Spring sings and does not end She calls the very images of lore To the forefront of mans mind There is no greater inspiration than Spring's melody
And when Summer comes around The two share their dance and song for a while Before Spring goes off with a wave to new lands Until the cold Earth needs its dance again © 2013 Daniel Wojtach |
