Chapter 10 Broken Heart

You're at home enjoying the peace and quiet by yourself since your mother is at work. You're in the lounge room watching (random movie) and eating popcorn when all of a sudden you hear a knock on the front door. You place your popcorn aside and pause the movie getting up to answer the door. "Hello" you said opening up the door. After you greeted your sudden guest, you realized who is was "IM SORRY, I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO YOU" the troll said crying his transparent blood colour "come on in karkat" you said and brought him inside.

 

"I'll go and get you some tissues" you said as you lead the broken troll to the lounge. You went to a cupboard and got out a box of tissues. You go back to karkat and hand him the box "Here ya go" you said taking a seat on the couch. "THANKS" karkat said taking the box and getting out a tissue, blowing his nose.

 

You look at the troll that's right in front of you and watch as he wiped away his tears that you notice are red but that didn't concern you right now. "I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT MY MATESPRIT HAS BEEN CHEATING ON ME AND WITH MY MOIRAIL OF ALL PEOPLE" karkat said with sadness in his voice "I don't mean to be rude but how did you find out?" You questioned. "WHAT YOU SAID GOT THE BETTER OF ME" karkat sighs "SO I FIRST ASKED GAMZEE IF HE, YOU KNOW, AND HE SAID THAT HE WASNT" karkat paused unsure whether to continue or not "THEN I WENT TO TEREZI'S HIVE, UP TO HER ROOM, THATS WHEN I HEARD" karkat stoped as tears started flowing down his face. You scoot close to karkat wrapping your arms around him. He was shocked at the sudden affection but hugs you back. After some time you both pull away, "you don't have to tell me, but I'm sorry that you had to find out the truth in the way you did" you said rubbing karkats back comforting him. "ITS OKAY, IT PROBABLY WAS BOUND TO HAPPEN" karkat said harshly "karkat don't say that" "AND WHY THE F**K NOT?" He yelled, you roll your eyes and sigh. "Do you wanna watch the rest of the movie with me?" You ask changing the subject "WHAT MOVIE IS IT?" "(Random movie)" "YEAH SURE, WHY THE F**K NOT" karkat said grabbing the bowl of popcorn and you played the movie.

 

After the movie was finished you took out the disk and put it back in its case. "WELL THAT WAS INTERESTING" karkat said standing up taking the bowl with him to the kitchen. "Wanna watch another movie?" You said as you walked into the kitchen. "DID YOU SAY SOMETHING?" karkat said, not taking his eyes off the popcorn that's cooking in the microwave. "I said do you wanna watch another movie?" You repeated just as the microwave beeped. Karkat opened the microwave and grabbed the bag, not realising that it's hot "OUCH" karkat dropped the bag of popcorn on the floor, you chuckled. "WHATS SO F*****G FUNNY ASSWIPE?" the troll said picking up the bag of popcorn with tongs "oh, nothing, just you" you said helping karkat out with the popcorn.

 

Once the popcorn was in the bowl karkat brought it to the lounge room. "SO WHAT SHITYASS HUMAN MOVIE ARE WE GOING TO WATCH NOW?" the Vantas asks taking a seat on the couch. "Well I was thinking that we could watch one of my movies from my secret stash" you said leaning on the back of the couch. "WHAT DO YOU F*****G MEAN SECRET STASH" karkat said curiously "I'll show you" you stood up and started to walk to your room "WAIT UP" the curious boy said following you. The two of you walk in to your room, you go over to your bed and bend down as if to grab something from underneath it. You pull out a box with movies in it, taking the lid off "WHAT THE F**K ARE" karkat stoped midsentence as he sees what you've pulled out and bent down on his knees "so which one?" You ask "WHY DO YOU HAVE A BOX OF ROMCOMS UNDER YOUR BED?" karkat asked taking out the notebook. "Well I love romcoms and I don't want my parents to know, they'll think I'm obsessed" you said pushing the box back under your bed. "IVE NEVER MET ANYONE WHO HAS THAT MANY ROMCOMS" karkat said as the both of you walk back down stairs. "Do you have an issue with romcoms Karkat?" You put the movie in the DVD player and take a seat on the lounge. "NO!" Karkat shouted "alright no need to shout" you said playing the movie.

The movie ended and you stoped the DVD player. "You okay karkat?" You ask moving close to the troll "YEAH IM FINE" he said wiping away his tears "you sure, are you still upset about" "NO, IT WAS THE MOVIE" karkat yelled, cutting you off. "The movie wasn't that sad, ok maybe a little but that's about it" you said then realised something. "Do you get really upset when watching romcoms?" You ask the Vantas "WELL....YEAH" karkat said blushing slightly. "So do you like romcoms?" You ask curiously "I DONT LIKE THEM I LOVE THEM. BUT YOU CANT F*****G TELL ANYONE" karkat said blushing enough for you to notice "karkat are you blushing?" You said getting close to the troll. "NO, S-SHUT UP" karkat stuttered, coursing his checks to go really red and looking way hoping that you didn't catch the colour of them. "Karkat are you getting embarrassed" you giggled "NO IM NOT, I JUST DONT WONT YOU TO SEE" karkat said not looking at you "to see what?" You moved to look at karkat face to face but he just kept moving so you wouldn't see his face. "MY BLOOD COLOUR" you sat back down on the couch "karkat I've already seen your blood colour" you said which made him turn his face, slightly red "CAN YOU KEEP IT A SECRET PLEASE?" you're shocked at the fact that karkat said please it really does surprise you. "Sure, what are friends for" you smiled, karkat very slightly smiled back.

 

The both of you decided to watch another movie to pass the time. You stoped the movie as the credits started to roll. You took out the disk. And placed it in the case. Karkat looked out the window "HEY SHITHEAD SOMEONE JUST PULLED UP IN YOUR DRIVE WAY" you checked the time on your phone "it's okay it's just my mum" you said turning off the TV. and DVD player. Karkat move away from the window "hey can you please put this back in my room" you asked giving karkat the movie "YEAH SURE" karkat walked to your room and placed the movie back in the box.

 

Just as karkat walked up the stairs your mother walked in "hey sweetie" your mum said closing the door "hey" you replay "so what have you been up to?" She asked walking to the kitchen "nothing much, just watching movies, how was work?" "Same as always, but there is this one guy that is super-hot" you giggle "hey mum is I okay if I have a friend stay over tonight" you ask "of cause you can darling" your mother said just as Karkat walked in "HEY FUCKASS" you jolted a bit when Karkat spoke "Jesus karkat don't do that" you said turning around to face the boy. "So is this your friend that's staying over?" Your mum asked "yeah" "well then I hope the two of you don't get up to anything, okay" you nod, slightly blushing knowing what your mum meant. "So what's your name" she walks over to karkat "KARKAT VANTAS" he said crossing his arms "well my name is (your mum's name)" your mum said kindly, Karkat rolled his eyes not giving any f***s. You notice this and pulled karkat out of the kitchen, "HEY WHAT THE F**K ARE YOU DOING ASSHAT?" karkat yelled as you take him to your room "quit your yelling okay, and the swearing" you told the grumpy troll "WHY THE F**K SHOULD I?" "Karkat please" you begged "my mum doesn't like when people yell and swear, specialty after her and dad broke up" you said sitting on your bed. Karkat walked over and sat down next to you "SORRY, I DIDNT KNOW" he said looking down at his feet "it's okay, you now know" karkat shifted close to you and gave you a hug which you gladly returned.

 

A few hour past and karkat was helping you clean up the dishes from dinner "you know you don't have to help me, right?" You said putting a plate on the drinker "I KNOW, SO BE F*****G GREATFUL ASSFUCK" karkat said grabbing a plate drying it with a tea towel. After the both of you finished cleaning up the kitchen, you went to your room "do you have any clean clothes?" You ask taking out a pair of clean pjs. "DOSE IT LOOK LIKE I HAVE CLEAN CLOTHES ON ME RIGHT NOW, NO I F*****G DONT. SO DONT ASK A STUPID QUESTION" karkat said folding his arms "well you can borrow some of mine" you pulled out a baggy shirt and pants, handing them to karkat "ARE YOU REALLY EXPECTING ME TO WEAR THAT?" Karkat pointed to the clothes "well you can't go to bed in dirty clothes" karkat unfolded him arms and extends a hand "FINE" you gave him the clothes "BUT DONT F*****G TELL ANYONE THAT I USED HUMAN GIRL CLOTHES" karkat groaned taking the clothes and going to the bathroom for a shower.

 

After karkat came back into your room after his shower you took a picture without his knowledge and giggled to yourself. He just ignores you as he sits on your bed going on his phone. You then go for your shower.

 

After you had a shower and went to your room, you hoped on your phone. You and the troll sat in silence taping away on your phone's "hey Kat wanna play a game?" You said looking over at the Vantas. "WHAT GAME, AND DONT CALL ME KAT" karkat said looking over at you "Mario kart" you said getting up off your bed. "YEAH SURE, BUT ILL F*****G WARN YOU IM REALLY GOOD AT PLAYING AT MARIO KART, SO BE F*****G PREPARED." Karkat said getting off the bed, you walked over to your TV and turn it on along with the Wii. Karkat walks over pick up a controller and taking a seat while you set up the game.

 

Some time passed and karkat was doing a victory dance, which you thought was hilarious. There was a knock on your bedroom door "come in" you said standing up "it's getting late, why don't you two pack it up and head to bed" your mum said "yeah sure" you respond "and don't do anything that you shouldn’t" "mum!" You said as your cheeks start to burn and she left closing the door. Karkat packs up the console while you get out a sleeping bag and some blankets for the Vantas to sleep in. "ARE YOU F*****G SERIOUS" karkat slightly yelled, folding his arms "what?" You said confused "IM NOT SLEEPING ON THE F*****G FLOOR" "well too bad you have to" "AND WHYS THAT SHITSTAIN?" karkat said shifting his weight from one leg to the other. "Because you can't sleep in my bed" karkat growled, rolling his eyes then hopes in the sleeping bag. You turn off the light and make your way to your bed "night kat" you said climbing under the covers "NIGHT ASSFUCK" karkat replied.

 

About more than an hour past and someone decides to climb into your bed with you, though you were completely unaware because you are asleep, and they wrap an arm around you like a teddy bear and drift off to sleep.

 

Morning came and you were waking up from an embarrassing dream, that you well never let anyone find out about, to find that someone had climbed into your bed "aahhh" you scream pushing whomever it was out of the bed along with the covers. You heard a groan coming from under the covers as you pushed whomever it was off your bed. "WHAT THE F**K WAS THAT FOR GRUBFUCK?" karkat yelled as he came out from under the covers "WHY THE HELL WERE YOU ON MY BED" You yelled back "BECAUSE I F*****G WELL CAN" karkat through your sheets at you "THATS NOT A F*****G EXCUSE" "WELL TO F*****G BAD" you both glare an each other for a while before someone's phone starts going off. "Hello" you answer your phone "hey (y/n)" it was your friend John "what's up?"

 "Wanna hang out? If you aren't busy"

 "Yeah okay, where at?"

 "Well I was thinking we could hang out at shopping centre"

 "That's fine, I'll meet you there"

 "Okay see you there"

 You ended the call and tossed the phone on your bed "WHO WAS THAT?" karkat asked as you grab long dark green baggy pants and a black shirt along with a bra out of your draws "it was John" you said as you put your clothes on your bed "you need to get dressed" you said "INTO WHAT EXACTLY? I DONT HAVE ANY F*****G CLEAN CLOTHES" karkat said standing up "well then get changed into your clothes from yesterday, we can stop at your place along the way" you said "WHERE ARE WE GOING?" karkat asked "shopping centre, now please get out so I can get dressed" you said pushing the troll out of the room and closing the door. After you got dressed you opened the door heading to the bathroom to tidy yourself up. You walk back to your room and see karkat changing his shirt. You stay by the doorway checking out the Vantass before he turned around "HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN F*****G STANDING THERE" karkat yelled in embarrassment. You chuckle as you walk over to the flustered troll to pick up your phone from off your bed. "So you ready?" You ask putting your phone in the pocket of your pants "YEAH" karkat said looking away a bit. "Well let's get going, John isn't going to be waiting forever" you said walking out your room with karkat following. You took your set of keys off the key hook as karkat opened the door and walked out, you followed and locked the door you then both head to the Cancer's hive.

 

You arrive at karkat's house and he just walks in "do you not lock your house up?" You question as you follow him to his room "I DO" "then why was" you were cut off by another voice "karkat where have y9u 6een, It triggers me when y9u don't tell me where y9u're g9ing. Y9u have 6een g9ne f9r m9re then twenty-f9ur h9urs with9ut n9tifying me 9f your wherea69uts care t9 explain t9 me why that is?" Both you and karkat turn around "I DONT HAVE F*****G TIME TO TELL YOU WHERE IVE BEEN AND BESIDES ITS NONE OF YOUR F*****G BUSINESS" karkat shouted then absconds to his room "he never seems t9 amaze me" the red sweater troll said "um excuse me" "9h hell9 I'm Kankri Vantas and y9u are? If you d9n't mind me asking" "(y/n) Strider, are you and karkat brothers?" You ask "why yes, would you like a cup of tea?" Kankri asked "that's very kind but I'm meeting with a friend and I wouldn't won't to keep him waiting, but thanks for the offer" you said kindly "may I ask t9 why such a kind lady like y9urself is friends with s9me9ne as rude as karkat?, s9rry if it c9me off as triggering" Kankri questioned then apologized "it's not triggering" you state "and for your question I don't know, maybe because deep down inside he can be kind" you said with a slight blush "ARE YOU F*****G DONE" karkat said coursing you to turn around "uh yeah, it's nice meeting you Kankri" "it's my pleasure, I h9pe t9 see y9u again s9metime" Kankri said with a smile and you smiled back as you walked out the door with karkat.

 

As you and karkat head to the shopping centre karkat broke the silence "DO YOU REALLY THINK THAT IM KIND?" You were slightly shocked but answered anyway "yeah, when you wanna be" you looked at karkat and he look back at you "THANKS" karkat said and you swear you saw him smile slightly but you’re not sure.

 

You both arrive at the shopping centre "SO WERE'S EGBERT?" karkat asks "I'll text him and find out" you pull out your phone and message John.

 'Were r ya'

 'Food court'

 'Ok be there soon'

 You put your phone away "he's at the food court" you said and started walking.

 

"Hey (y/n) over here" you hear looking around then you see your bucktooth friend and head over to him. "Sup Egbert" you said giving the boy a fist bump "let's get some food shall we" John said taking your hand, you laugh as you go over to hungry jacks "so what do you want?" John asks "hmmm medium double cheese burger meal and instead of a coke can I get a frozen creaming soda" you said "okay". John orders and you go and take a seat at a table "were did you go?" You ask the cancer "I GOT KFC, WANT SOME?" karkat said taking a seat across from you "no thanks, John got me hungry jacks" you said as John came over with the order "here you go" he gave you your meal as he sat down next to you.

 

(Karkat pov)

 

'WHY THE F**K AM I HERE GOG' you thought to yourself as you ate your chips. As you eat and look around out of boredom, you notice something. You get up from your seat with anger which coursed the two humans to look up at you "karkat you okay?" You hear (y/n) say but you ignore her and walk off. "HEY SHITHEAD" you shouted angrily, a purple blood turned around "HeY BrO" Gamzee said, just as you punched him in the face. "HOW DARE YOU" you punched the slightly taller troll again "I THOUGHT YOU WERE MY F*****G MOIRAIL" again you punch him "BUT I GUESS NOT" you go to hit the Capricorn again but he stops you by grabbing your arm then Gamzee raise his hand to hit you back "STOP TH3 BOTH OF YOU" you hear your unofficial ex matesprite say and Gamzee let's go of you. You notice that (y/n) and John came over "hey you okay?" (y/n) said "YEAH" "K4RK4T WH4T H4S GOTT3N 1NTO YOU?" Terezi said walking close to you "YOU THATS WHAT" you shouted "M3? HOW?" Terezi questioned "DONT PLAY F*****G DUMB WITH ME. I KNOW THAT YOUVE BEEN F*****G CHEATING ON ME AND WITH GAMZEE OF ALL F*****G PEOPLE" you yelled coursing people in the shopping centre to look. "AND YOU, I THOUGHT YOU WERE MY F*****G MOIRAIL, I GUESS F*****G NOT" you yelled pointing at the high troll "K4RK4T 1 C4N 3XPL41N" Terezi said "NO, DONT F*****G BOTHER, IT’S OVER. FOR THE BOTH OF YOU" you said to both Terezi and Gamzee. You turned around and walked back to the table that you were eating at and continued to eat the remainder of your food.
