Chapter 9 The Truth Hurts

You can’t believe that he shouted at you, but jade did warn you if you told karkat the truth that he would have an outburst. You ran to the toilets and turned on the tap, splashing some water on your face. “What did I tell you!” Jade yelled when she had entered. “I know but I had to tell him” you sniffled “what is going on?” Rose questioned as she entered “I heard someone yelling” “it was karkat yelling at (y/n) about something she said to him, in which she wasn’t supposed to” jade said annoyed. Rose walked over to you “what was it that you told him?” you wiped away some tears that had fallen down your face “I told him that Terezi is cheating on him with Gamzee” “oh I see, you sure that you aren’t clouded by jealousy?” ‘why dose every one think im jealous’ you thought getting angry “im not f*****g jealous” you burst out with rage “im sick of every one thinking that im f*****g jealous when im not, I know what I f*****g saw” you storm out of the toilets muttering cures words.

 

(Rose pov)

 

“Wow remind me not to get her angry again” Jade said as she walks out, you following. “What are we going to do about (y/n)?” “All we can do for now is let her cool down, she’ll come around” you had a feeling that something like this would happen after finding out that (y/n) has a crush on the nubby horned troll.

You toss your bag on your bed, kicking off your shoes. You take out (a novel) and shift your bag to the floor, as you sit on your bed and you start reading the novel that you’re required to read for English. After about half an hour of reading you hear a wind chime, which is the message tone for pesterchum, along with a vibration, you grab your phone from out of your pocket and check who is messaging you. The name that appeared was unfamiliar to you, you rarely talk to the person via pesterchum.

‘God I hate her so much’ you thought as tears rolled down your features, laying down on the bed. You wish that your life was like it was back on the farm, you didn’t have any of these problems you have now.

 

 

It’s been a few weeks since you told Karkat about Terezi cheating on him. He hasn’t spoken to you or even looked at you, he treats you like you don’t exist. And every time you see the teal blooded troll, you get a ball of anger like you just want to rage quite. And when she’s around Karkat she looks back at you with a smirk, because you can’t prove anything.

 

You’re currently walking in the schools many hallways and you spot Rose and Dave talking. As you’re getting closer to the two, you hear what there are talking about. “How am I going to tell him that I like him without him taking it as a joke?” you hear Dave say “well you could ask” “hey guys” you say interrupting Rose “Hello, how are you today (y/n)?” “Sup” both greet you “I’m good, though I’ve been better” you said. “So Dave I just heard that you like someone” you said smirking at Dave, “I don’t know what you’re talking about” the blond boy said trying to keep his stoic stare, but you can see that he’s trying not to blush by his light pink cheeks. “So who is it Dave?” you ask “if I tell you, will you keep it a secret?” you nod “it’s John” he whispers it so no one else hears him but you heard what he said “are you f*****g serious” you said aloud “yes, now keep it to yourself” Dave said having a slight blush. “Excuse me, I don’t mean to interrupt but we should all start heading to class” Rose said and if right on queue the bell rang and you all head to class.

 All day you’ve been debating with yourself whether or not to ask Gamzee if he has been in a relationship with Terezi while you’ve been in a matespritship with the teal blood. But you keep shaking the idea off not wanting what (y/n) said to be true. ‘F**K IT’ you thought while walking home. You got out your phone and went on trollin and taped on Gamzee’s user.

You signed out and put your phone in your pocket just as you reached your hive. You opened the door and went inside, walking to your room. You put your bag down next to your desk and take a seat in your chair, feeling slightly better than you were before messaging your moirail, but you still want to ask Terezi to confirm that there isn’t anything going on between your moirail and matesprite.

 

You leave your hive, locking the door behind you. You’ve decided to ask Terezi in person about if she is cheating on you or not it feels like it’s been hours but it’s only been about forty minutes and you’ve reached the hive of your matesprite. You walk up to the door and knock a couple of times. The door opens to reveal Latula Terezi’s older cousin that she lives with “HEY ASSHAT” you great the older troll “h3y v4nt4s, wh4t’s up?” Latula asked “IS TEREZI HOME?” you ask walking inside “y34h, sh3’s upst41rs 1n h3r room” “THANKS” you said and start walking to her room.

 

You stand outside your matesprite’s room, you reach for the door handle then you hear something coming from inside the room. You press your ear to the door in an attempt to hear what is going on inside. You can hear slight moans, so you opened the door ever so slightly to see into the room. When you had the door open enough to see what was going on, you heart shattered instantly at the sight before you. Tears started flowing down your checks as you close the door and walk out of the hive. Once you were out of your now ex matesprite’s hive, you ran, you just ran away from what you hoped oh so much that wasn’t true. You don’t know where you’re going, but as long as it was away from them.
