Chapter 7: Crush

<Time skip about 2 months later>

 

You have been invited over to a friend’s place to hangout. You’ve been walking for about ten minutes now and you finally arrive at your destination. You walk up the path that leads to a blue house and knock on the door. The door opens to reveal a boy in blue pj’s with a breath symbol on the front. “Hey John, nice pj’s” “there not pj’s” john says as you walk in. you’ve been over johns many time before, so you know where everything is. John shuts the door and walks to the lounge room “so I’m just going to guess and say you invited me over to watch Conair” you say, taking a seat on the lounge. “Well yeah, how did you know?” john asked, sitting next to you as you roll your eyes “because we watch it nearly every time I come over” you state, being annoyed at how many times you’ve been Conair. “Oh, well how about we watch gone in 60 seconds?” “How about we don’t watch anything” “then what are we going to do?” “We could chat” “about?” “Well we could take about…” you are a bit unsure what to talk about “I don’t know” “you want to chat but you don’t know what to talk about?” john asked “yeah pretty much”. It went quite between you and john for a few minutes “do you have a crush?” john asked twilling his thumbs looking towards you, breaking the silence “what?” you questioned looking back at john. “I said, do you have a crush?” john repeated his question “oh, um I don’t know, I don’t think so” you are uncertain if you have a crush because you’ve never had one before. “Do you?” you ask John “yeah” “who?” “I don’t want people knowing who I have a crush on” john said looking at the floor “oh okay” after you said that, you and john talked about different things.

 

You check the time one your phone and realize it's late in the afternoon. "Its late, I better get home" "yeah sure" you got up and walked to the door and John followed. You opened the door "thanks for inviting me over john" you said looking at him "it's okay" John. Smiled and you smiled back "later" "see ya". You begin walking home, dreading that your parents have gotten into another fight.

 

You walk up the path that leads to your house and you take a deep breath and exhale as you open the door. You walk in and close the door quietly so you don’t draw attention towards yourself. Your parents are arguing yet again, so you decide to go upstairs to your room. You hate for the fact that your parents fighting over the past few weeks, they never did this back on the farm. You lay down on your bed putting in your earbuds in, to block out your parents. It’s been nearly an hour and you think your parents have stopped arguing. You pause your music and take your earbuds out, just as you took them out you heard a knock on your bedroom door. You sit up on your bed “come in” you said and the door open to reveal your mother. “Sup?” you ask, your mother walks over to you and took a seat on your bed. “There is something you need to know, it’s to do with me and your father” your mother said. You have a confused look on your face to what it might be that is important for your mother to tell you. “Well as you probable already know me and your father aren’t getting along” she pauses “what are you suggesting?” you say trying not to get upset that your parents might break up. “I’m suggesting that I and your father get divorced, I’m sorry (y/n)” with that your mother left the room. Tears begin to fall down your face, you hate them fighting but this, getting divorced, rips you in half.

 

A few days have passed and you have refused to come out of your room. Today is the day that your father is leaving the house. There is a knock on your door but you don't answer it or say anything. "(Y/n)?" Your father asked opening the door, he sees you sitting at your computer and walks over. "Do you have to go?" You ask turning on your chair with a straight face. "Yeah" you look down at the floor, then you feel a hand on your shoulder and look up. "Just because I'm leaving doesn’t mean that we won't see each other" "I know that, it's just going to be weird without you here" your father smiles "everything is going to be okay" you smile at your father and stand up then giving him a hug. "I'm going to miss you dad" "I'm going to miss you to (y/n)" your father broke the hug and gave you a kiss on the forehead "I love you sweetie" "I love you too dad" your father smiles at you and you smile back. With that your father walks out of your room.

 

About four hours have passed since your father left and you currently have no idea what to do. You then decide that you'll pester Rose for a bit.

cH: Sup

 

tT: Nothing much, other than me and jade hanging out at my place.

 

tT: What about you?

 

cH: I'm alright, I guess

 

tT: What happened?

 

cH: a lot happened

 

cH: can we please not talk about it over pesterchum

 

tT: of cause.

 

tT: Do you want to come over and talk about it?

 

cH: yeah, I'll be there soon

 

tT: Okay I'll see you when you get here

You finishes your conversation with rose and logged off. You grab your (f/c) canvas shoes and a pair of socks and put them on. You then proceed to get ready by tidying up your hair and making sure that what you're wearing is suitable to wear out. You then grab your phone and walk out of your room, closing the door behind you. You reached the last step and was about half way to the door when your mum asked "where are you going?" You turned around and answered her "I'm going over to Rose's place" "okay, but be back before dark" "yeah sure". You turned back around and opened the door, walked out and closed it again and stared walking to Rose's house.

 

You finally arrive at the Lalonde’s residence. You knock on the door and wait for a response. “Coming” you hear Rose say and then the door opens “hello (y/n), come in” Rose says gesturing to you to come in. You walk in looking around “hey (y/n)” you hear someone say and turn to see the voice belongs to “hey Jade” “how are you?” she says with a smiles “im okay, I guess” you say as the three of you girls walked to the lounge room and took a seat “has something happened?” jade asked with concern in her voice “yeah” you look at the floor “my parents are getting divorced” you say still starring at the floor “what! Why?” Jade asked “because they started fighting and arguing with each other” you say looking at your friends with sadness in your eyes “im sorry that has happened between your parents. It must devastate you” Rose said “yeah sorry about your parents” jade added “thanks you guys” you say smiling at your two friends.

 

About half an hour pasted and the three of you are in the kitchen making lunch. “So Rose when are you going to tell Kanaya that you like her?” jade asked cutting her sandwich in half. “I didn’t know you swing that way Rose” you joked putting your sandwich on a plate. “Jade for your question I don’t know when Im going to tell her” Rose sat at the table as you and Jade done the same. “Is that a problem with you (y/n)?” “No, I just didn’t think you swing that way is all” you said and took a bit of your lunch. “Do you have a crush (y/n)?” the Lalonde asked “not that I’m aware of” “what do you mean you’re not aware of?” jade asked “I mean I’ve never had a crush, I don’t even know how to tell if I have one” “(y/n) are you serious” Jade said, shocked that you’re never had a crush before “yeah I am” “I’ve never in my life have I meet someone who has never had a crush” Rose said and continued with “do you want to know how to tell if you have one?” you node your head and for the next twenty minutes to half an hour the girls explained to you what it’s like having a crush and what you need to look out for if you might have a crush.

 

“So yeah that’s basically it” jade said “wow so that means I do have a crush, holey s**t” you said been shocked that you actually have a crush “so then who do you have a crush on?” the girls both said in sync, “I have a crush on karkat”.
