Chapter 6: What Are Quadrants?

<3^rd person pov>

 

It’s been a few months since you’ve moved to (city name) and you’ve meet some interesting people, well trolls more to the point. You meet Gamzee on your second day and you have a feeling that he’s stoned. Later that day Gamzee introduced you to Tavros, he seems to be a bit shy and felt sorry for the troll when he told you how he became paraplegic. As the weeks went by you meet; Vriska, whom you think is a huge b***h. Aradia, she creeps you out a little with the hole she hears dead people but other than that she’s alright. Feferi, she’s nice but her voice irritates you. Nepeta, you think she’s adorable and Equius, he sweats way too much so you try to stay away from him.

 

Right now you’re waiting by Karkat’s locker for karkat, because you want to lean about troll quadrants. You’ve asked some of the others but they tell you to ask karkat because he is the only one that is willing to explain quadrants to a human. “HEY FUCKASS” karkat greeted “Sup” you replied as a strider would. “NOTHING F*****G MUCH, YOU?” he said as he puts some things into his locker “I’ve been pretty good, I actually wold like you help with something” karkat closed his locker ‘I GUESS I CAN F*****G HELP, WHAT DO YOU NEED HELP WITH NOOKSTAIN?” you both started walking together to the canteen “quadrants” you simply said “WHAT!…..WHY IN ALTERNAN F**K DO YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT QUADRANTS, I HAD A HARD ENOUTH F*****G TIME TRYING TO EXPLPLAIN THEM TO EGBERT, WHICH WAS A WASTE OF MY PRECIOUS TIME AND NOW ANOTHER PINK A*S MONKEY WANTS TO KNOW ANOUT QUADRANTS. GREAT, JUST F*****G GREAT”. Karkat finished his rant as both of you entered the canteen “jeez sorry for wanting to know about your culture”. He rolls his eyes and grabs a food tray and you do the same. “SO YOU WANT TO F*****G KNOW ABOUT MY SPECIES, WHY?” karkat asked grabbing a small bottle of apple juice. “Because I think it would be interesting to know about your culture, is that a problem with you?”. You both reach for the last slice of strawberry cheesecake which caused your hands to touch and you felt something that you’ve never felt before. You both look at each other with a small blush on your faces. Karkat moves his hand away “YOU CAN HAVE IT” he said in almost a whisper and goes and pays for his lunch. You grab the slice of cheesecake and pay for yours.

 

You walk towards the table that karkat is sitting at along with john. “Cool, thanks for the aj” Dave said taking the trolls apple juice “GIVE THAT F*****G BACK STRIDER” “why should I?” “Dave stop been a dick and give karkat his juice back” you say taking a sit between karkat and john “fine, I was just messing with him” Dave says tossing the bottle back at karkat and he catches it as Dave walks away. “Hey (y/n)” “hey John” “I saved you a slice of strawberry cheesecake, Dave says it’s your favourite flavour” john said with a smile, sliding the small plate towards you. “Um thanks john, but I can’t accept, sorry” you slid the plate back towards john a bit “karkat allowed me to have the last slice”. You eat your lunch having no idea that John got a bit angry that you didn’t accept the cheesecake that he bought for you and that karkat allowed you to have the last slice. But john hid his anger and continued to eat his lunch.

 

The bell rang and the three of you headed to class. “So are you going to teach me about quadrants or what?” you ask karkat “FINE I WILL” you get excited and hug karkat “thank you karkat” you let him go and you both continue to walk to class. You arrive at your class room and walk in with a smile “why are you 2o happy (Ur name in 2 letters)” Sollux asked “because karkat is going to teach me about quadrants” Sollux chuckled “kk are you 2eriiou2” “YEAH SO WHATS IT F*****G TO YOU” Sollux rolls his eyes and the tree of you sat down as the teacher walks in.

 

<Time skip to second break>

 

You walk to your locker and put away your things. Just as you closed your locker Dave came up to you “hey Dave” “hey, can I ask you something?” Dave asked as you two begin to walk. “Yeah sure, what is it?” “Do you like karkat?” when he asked your face went a little pink “in what way?” “As in do you have a crush on him?” “No I don’t have a crush on him” you say a bit defensive “who don’t you have a crush on?” John asked as he appeared next to you “I don’t have a crush” you say. You phone started vibrating in your pocket and you pulled it out to see what it was. You see that its karkat pestering you and you open it up.

cG: HEY ASSHAT

 

cH: hey what’s up?

 

cG: MEET ME AT THE LIBRARY

 

cH: um ok, why?

 

cG: DO YOU WANT TO F*****G LEAN ABOUT QUADRANTS OR WHAT?

 

cH: yeah of cause

 

cH: I’ll be there soon

 

cG: WELL DON’T KEEP ME F*****G WAITING

You put your phone away “who was that?” John asked “it was karkat telling me to meet him at the library” “oh, why?” “Well he’s going to teach me about troll quadrants, so I’ll see you later okay” “yeah okay see ya”. You quickly got to the library and walked in. you look around to see if you can find karkat. “OVER HERE SHITSTAIN” you hear karkat voice then you see him sitting at one of the many table in the library and walk over to him. “Hey” you say taking a seat and then karkat began teaching you about the quadrants.

 

It was nearly the end of lunch and you have learned about the basics of the quadrants. “H3Y K4RKL3S, WH4T 4R3 YOU DO1NG?” you hear someone say from behind you so you turn around to see who it is. “TEACHING THIS WORTHLES HUMAN ABOUT QUADRANTS” something about her seems familiar but you don’t know what “W3LL TH4T 1SNT 3X1T1NG” the girl went over to karkat and she hugged him from behind. “Who are you?” you asked “1’M T3R3Z1, 1’M 1N YOUR 4RT CLASS” that’s where you’ve seen her “I knew I’ve seen you before I just couldn’t remember” Terezi giggled at what you said and then the bell rang. You got up and grabbed your bag and swung It over your shoulders as you were doing that you seen that karkat and Terezi hugged and for some reason you felt a bit angry ‘there probably just friends’ you thought to yourself but before you turned to walk to class you seen them kiss ‘or not’ you thought and walked to class with a bit of anger building inside of you that you weren’t completely aware of.
