Sorrow Came in Droves

Sorrow Came in Droves

A Poem by Frank F. Atanacio
"

a sad scene ...

"

The angels were shocked,

the spirits would glow,

right before them was an elaborate show,

on one counter,

small broken teeth on a silver tray,

and a little girl’s bloodied clothes,

laid out carefully in a graphic display,

the angels with horrified looks,

stared at the other table,

that had the girl’s book bag and school books,

sorrow came in droves,

as ghosts were hovering

over the dead girl’s clothes.

Haunting images.
The world is such a cruel place nowadays.

very nice!! I love the strange rippling rhyme scheme you have going on! it's not fixed, but rather changing with the flow, it gives it quite a charming appeal which mocks the darker themes! nice!

I will have nightmares for a week. It was a good poem though and it really got me thinking about what could have possibly been the reason for the poor victim!

Such a horrible, violent world we live in, especially for children. I really like the contrast between the natural and supernatural world, reminds me of Frank Peretti. Very graphic description that well conveys a picture and feel. Indeed a very sorrowful piece but quite well done.
