Testimony of a DetectiveA Poem by Frank F. Atanaciothe testimony of a detectiveBefore he took oath, the detective made it a point of reading through the case file, because he knew that civilian witnesses were primed and prepared by the prosecutor before the trial, they will produce the most critical evidence, but every case pile, could end up a bad dream, the testimony of the detective concerning the crime scene, could make just about anybody scream, but it lays the ground work for the prosecutor’s case, everything must be perfect, everything in its place, court time for a detective has a short range, almost like being in limbo, very strange, it’s a period on non-existence that was only briefly interrupted when he was called to testify, it seemed effortless, but he did try. © 2010 Frank F.
