Sad Stories ToldA Poem by Frank F. Atanacioafter a fire..sad stories would be toldSad stories are told, but a reality could never unfold, in the cold, the spirit stands in water and ash, and smells that unmistakable odor, flesh swells, as the firefighters pry rubble off the bodies of small children, it was almost like seeing double, the children left behind when the fire broke out, only their ghosts would shout, all this when a space heater shorted, small bodies contorted, life distorted, and the spirit would pray as he floats away. © 2010 Frank F.
