Misdemeanor Homicide

Misdemeanor Homicide

A Poem by Frank F. Atanacio
"

when no one takes a homicide serious....

"

A drug killing with no witnesses,

no specific motive,

and no suspects,

a dead man with an empty face,

and no interest in the case,

it was just being swept away

with humanity’s ignorant broom,

as the body would stay

outside a freezer door

across from the autopsy room,

with the identification tag left on the floor,

cause of death, a brutal attack,

male, black,

address, not shown,

family, unknown,

the tag had nothing to hide,

and the case was treated like a misdemeanor homicide.

What a waste human life is some days, right?! When we think of all we could be, and yet, so few of us achieve those goals....*sigh* I read one time that we only use 15% of our brains.

Good write, my friend.

I liked that, angry, deep, clever.
