Deliberately Aimed

Deliberately Aimed

A Poem by Frank F. Atanacio
"

a terrorist attack...

"

It was all it took,

the terrorists were pleased,

as the ground shook,

and the attack eased,

they barely had time

to cover their faces,

before the intense heat hit,

as ghosts took their places,

leaving no traces,

they weren’t braced,

another explosion, perfectly placed,

and it was an attack

that religion had never faced,

barbaric and dangerous,

many lives were claimed

as these attacks were deliberately aimed.

And then some complain
that it's inhumane
to search or restrain

powerful and deeply haunting~especially so since this is the reality the world has come to experience~

Wow...well, I'd half to say you captured this aberration most adequately. I especially liked this line ----

they barely had time
to cover their faces,
before the intense heat hit,
as ghosts took their places,

Yes, ghosts...very nicely done.

Great write!
