Quietly to the Ground

Quietly to the Ground

A Poem by Frank F. Atanacio
"

A witch tale...

"

For miles she was trailed,

all her emotions sailed,

the witch was nearly dead,

as she tried to sit up and failed,

death ran through her head,

the witch hunter,

holding the water to her mouth,

and pouring not giving,

she didn’t belong with the living,

he continued not giving her a choice,

anger in his voice,

the witch managed three good swallows

before she coughed and choked,

the witch hunters laughed and joked,

then without a sound,

she fell quietly to the ground,

and instead of being burnt at the stake,

she drowned,

and there was no mistake.

This was very interesting , it was like reading a piece out of history. It's scary to think people were accused of witchcraft for any reason along time ago. It's pieces like this that scare me the most sometimes because they still have so many connections with today , not litarally but in the sense of who is seen as a threat to the mainstream of society. Nice work.

you use plain language, but arranged in a way that one is disgusted by the event you portray viscerally and without excess fat.
