Another crime drama in poetry

It was the year’s most violent attack,

the room where the victim

was found had been ransacked,

time itself mocked the most

careful investigation,

so much frustration,

there was no lack of concentration,

he was shot, stabbed and strangled,

the detective worked every angle,

hoping that something would fall,

and the guilty would call,

and justice could stand tall,

evidence would pile,

death would smile,

and the detective could keep

this investigation as an open case file.
