A Closed Case File

A Closed Case File

A Poem by Frank F. Atanacio
"

Finally closing a file on a murder victim

"

It took awhile,

but he finally made this a closed case file,

after a thorough investigation,

he was sure,

there were no signs of forced entry,

the doors and windows were secure,

she was on her back,

after the violent attack,

centered in a pool of coagulated blood

oh the pain she must have sustained,

as the blood stained

the carpeting in a wide circle,

like it was a practice pose,

her eyes were closed,

her mouth parted slightly,

and except for a pair of black panties,

she was nude,

her nose pushed forward toward he mouth,

her head north, her feet south,

her body rested beside a double bed,

in a cramped bedroom,

trim white, walls red,

closed case, woman dead.
