The Spirit Of Justice

The Spirit Of Justice

A Poem by Frank F. Atanacio
"

a courtroom scene

"
The lies covered the courtroom like flies,
as humanity cries,
the spirit of justice begs,
as a woman takes the oath,
and crosses her legs,
she would hear the prosecutor say,
do you see the murderer in this courtroom today,
to lie, she would be capable,
the woman points to the defense table,
then, for just a moment, smiles,
anger filtered into justice for a while,
an innocent man did not exist,
guilty was the only word on the list,
even when he did not commit the crime,
he would go to jail for a very long time.
