Greatest Tormentor

Greatest Tormentor

A Poem by Frank F. Atanacio
"

A Rape Victim comes back fully charged

"

There was no mistaken,

she was raped,

and her life was taken,

it was an empty defeat,

slowly, painfully,

as her soul got to her feet,

the soul looked up at the sky,

heard an angel cry,

a tear slowly leaving her eye,

the sun beat down on her body mercilessly,

the demons pointing at her,

cursing her and laughing at her,

in death, the demons were the tormentors,

but in life, the rapist was the greatest tormentor,

through the swelling in her mouth,

something was said,

the soul thought she was dead,

the body was able to speak,

God gave her life,

so revenge she could seek,

the soul quietly returned to her proper place,

and the rapist will once again see her face.

I thought this poem carried a message of strength and brought the pain of the victum full circle. I enjoyed the rhyme, and it has a easy flow about it. Well done. Cherrie

Oh wow. This was amazing. It has great flow and rhyme. the only thing was at one point you repeated tormenters twice and it didn't sound so good.
