Life DimsA Poem by Frank F. Atanaciohomeless man waiting for deathHe was a shadow of a man, gaunt and undernourished, no money, no demands, hunger is all he commands, his skin barely filling out his bones, nothing he owns, missing teeth makes his words more garbled, eyes shining like marbles, his family would scarcely recognize him, as he took a sad moment to reflect, nothing to detect, as he palmed his rumpled hair, as death came near, homeless, and no one cares, distraught, and filled with despair, as he walks broken into the night, life dims, as he prays for the light. © 2009 Frank F.
