Emotions Sift

Emotions Sift

A Poem by Frank F. Atanacio
"

Dog attack gone wrong

"

She sat back

and let her mind drift,

it was after the attack,

emotions sift,

her husband pacing,

his mind racing,

waiting,

fearing,

hating,

tearing,

the pit-bull attacked changed their lives,

a child mauled,

and everyone cries,

while living, a child tries,

but for him it was just too painful to cry,

so the parents pray he doesn’t die,

then a wave of shocks hit,

that was it,

there was no choice between living and dying,

mother now crying,

as hard as she ever did,

in the back of her mind,

the visions of that attack now hid,

she grabbed the chair,

heart filled with despair,

then she understood that God gives,

as the doctor informed them that the child lives.

Liked this. It flowed well and I felt the mother's despair.
