Shaking Off His Trepidation

Shaking Off His Trepidation

A Poem by Frank F. Atanacio
"

Battle between Good and Evil continues

"

God stood with his hands

clasped behind his back,

the fighting ending and there was no command,

it was just attack after attack,

and no one left to stand,

take control, make a demand,

he surveyed the battle field

with the utmost scrutiny,

he shook his head,

because he couldn’t even count the dead,

God closed his eyes,

just to listen to his inner-voice,

clearing out the madness and the cries,

but it was the humans who made the wrong choice,

shaking off his trepidation.

They say the love each other,

that was a contradiction,

but then they’ll protect one another,

that was conflicting,

he shuddered at the thought,

and hope is what he sought,

but death is what they wrought,

and in the middle of it all, he’s caught.
