Impatiently Cruel

Impatiently Cruel

A Poem by Frank F. Atanacio

If he can’t have her,

That obsession still haunted,

his intensity frightened her,

his anger flaunted,

he was possessive,

passionate, dominate,

impatiently cruel,

his way, his rule,

he held a mixture of humiliation

and hatred over her head,

not a kind word ever said,

she was caged and enraged by fear,

her past erased,

her death, near,

and she’ll vanish without a trace,

she grasped for breath,

but it became less and less,

and to want to hold on to life so much

she had not dreamed possible,

violently she drowned,

he covered his tracks,

and then he left town,

no media, no whispers, no sound.

no one can!

loved it........i have a poem sort of like this, it doesn't flow as well, but the same plot. murder and abuse all in one.

I like this murderous little poem. You used rhyme well, good pace and a breezy rhythm -which made the the tone -matter of fact- which gave it all the more impact. Good stuff...
