Rogue Angel

Rogue Angel

A Poem by Frank F. Atanacio
"

The Continued battles between Heaven and Hell

"

The rogue angel’s gall,

especially in the face of brutal danger,

angered God and made him stand tall,

take a tougher stand,

because all in all

he was still in command.

God kept his voice calm,

he would teach the rogue angel lessons of battle,

or watch humans be herded away like cattle,

it was his choice,

it was his voice,

but the rogue angel needed to avoid the consequences

that came with running wild,

and putting lives on the line,

God knew he was a good soldier,

but these were just bad times,

God made the rogue angel’s masked visage disappear,

he sat before God without fear,

he gritted his teeth and dug his nails into the chair,

awaiting God’s blow,

he thought it was the lesson God had to show,

but when in fact,

it was Mercy that God offered,

and it was Mercy that gave the rogue angel his glow.
