But By God You'll Respect Us

But By God You'll Respect Us

A Poem by Frank F. Atanacio
"

Holy war, end of days

"

The dark images in order to defeat,

they infect,

God properly treats,

the stubborn dark images re-infect,

as a way to saturate, un-populate, separate,

the Human Race,

so they poison and they lace,

hiding signatures so there will be no trace,

as they introduce a deadly sickness,

and an awful plague,

a form so rare, and so vague,

God gives humans natural immunity,

the dark images continue to create new viruses,

God immunizes,

their dark faces blank, God laughs.

They slowly walk by the humans,

each one looking strong,

their poison, virus, disease,

and nothing went wrong,

the humans lived on.

A small child walks up to the dark souls,

feeling their cold,

and speaks with a command,

a voice that demand...

And says:

You may not like us,

But by God you’ll respect us!

Beautifully put together.

You used some rather novel words in there.

"A small child walks up to the dark souls,
feeling their cold..."

I've always found it interesting that it's always children on both ends of the spectrum. But I suppose they are the future, and the way we begin to touch eternity. Children are why ideas never die.

Whoa! Such awesome lines here.
This is simply amazing. I mean that
I just don't say that either.
These lines captured me.
You summed this write up really well.

Wow... I like it a lot. It kind of reminds me of our history as Earth. God's continuous mockery of humanity. I love the vocabulary you used as well (populate, saturate, re-infect, etc.)
