JustifiedA Poem by Frank F. AtanacioGuilt
He became a silent shell of a man, justified in his actions, by the law of the land, and its people, and by a juror of his peers, but not in his eyes. He use to enjoy working around his house, but now he sits in, wondering why him, why did he choose to kill? He remembered it so well, in his mind as far as he could tell, he keeps reliving that hell. A window opened while he slept, a child entered to steal his things, the child walked quietly, slowly he crept, when the shot was fired, the man slowly wept, death on his floor, blood on his door, even though he was found not guilty when tried, he still didn’t feel justified. © 2009 Frank F.
