Two Doors

Two Doors

A Poem by Frank F. Atanacio
"

From the Choosing Sides Collection

"

The devil echoed

with an abrupt

tenor of threat,

God stood beside him,

in his dominating manner,

the devil stared,

as his demons glared,

measuring the night

as tempers flared,

and lost souls flailing in the light,

consumed for a moment,

with a cold chill.

It took all of God’s inner

resolve to stand still.

Two doors for human souls to enter,

one on the left, bright light,

the other on the right, dark night,

in the center of the room,

there stood a broken child,

a human child, one eye,

disfigured face,

a future for the human race.

The child represents

no more cleansing of all sins,

if evil wins.

There is only one choice,

enter the door with demonic roars,

or enter the door with an Angelic voice,

one choice, two doors.
