Mocked Laughter

Mocked Laughter

A Poem by Frank F. Atanacio
"

sorrow

"

She looked at him suspiciously,

as he entered the cold basement,

he was alone, so he thought,

and she saw him sweating,

as her heart raced,

and it skipped several beats per minute,

he took a deep breath,

and pulled out a .38,

she tried to clear her head,

but she heard music,

haunting music, chilling music,

music that entertains the dead,

he put the gun to his temple,

dropped his head,

and he squeezed the trigger,

as she released a mocked laughter,

an insanity cry,

as the blood covered her clothes,

and terror filled her eyes,

suddenly reality entered,

and there was no where to go,

so she screamed.. " Oh daddy NO!"
