Stricken

Stricken

A Poem by Allyson N. Jason
"

This is a poem about death, regret, sadism and self-annihilation.

"

One boy observed all the time

He took in what others gave out

He created with it destruction

destruction towards others

He sat on the steps

in front of a large green building

A man passed by

with a pleasant smile on his face

The boy took in happiness

from the man.

This man's happiness was

disgusting to the boy

The boy unusually got up

yelled to the man

The man turned around peacefully

The boy ran towards the man

and knocked him down

with force

the man cried out loud

and screamed

and the boy ran away weary

The next day the boy

sat against a tree in a park

The man appeared again

The man did not notice the boy

The boy observed the man secretly

and took in fear

The boy got up and ran behind the man

the fear from the man

made the boy angry

He then strangled the man

The man gasped for air

His face turned red

then a pale blue

a blue that became paler

and paler

and finally lifeless.........

The boy ran away

and stayed in his room

for a week

Then he came out again and went to

the cemetary

that he always visited

He knew every tombstone

He knew every place

each one belonged to

but today there was one

that was new

He walked over and noticed

the year and also the date.............

The boy took in emptiness

and then he gave out sadness

regret, resentment and guilt

He gave out all he ever wanted

to observe in others
