FrozenA Chapter by CearaAfter recovering from their fall, the twins wake up to find themselves in a lost city, completely encased in ice.
The fall was rather unexciting, as falls went. There was no light to show where they were falling to, Meena noticed. Nothing but a great big empty inky blackness. Although she'd been screaming, the girl found herself bored of that after a few seconds.
When a few more had passed, and they still hadn't hit anything, she began to worry. A fall down a plain old hole shouldn't have been quite so long, she was almost sure. It was starting to feel like the earth had swallowed them up. She gripped her brother's hand tightly, and shut her eyes. When they finally did hit something, it came very suddenly. Meena's soft boots hit something solid with a loud, echoing smack that hurt her ears, and it sent bolts of pain up her legs. She had to curl up for a second, fighting the stinging sensation by clutching her legs close to her body. When she finally opened her eyes, she was surprised to find the gloom was not as dark as before. A thin light illuminated the cavern, trying its best to spread to as much of the cave as possible. What she could see was faintly blueish, and mostly dark. At least she could see her own hands now. She stood up, squinting and trying to see where she was.
