You'll Be Here When?

You'll Be Here When?

A Poem by KK

Checking the Clock Waiting for You
Going Through a Sugar Rush While Tying My Shoe,
Be Ready by 2:30 Sharp *giggle* I Remember
Wait! My Legos are Falling... TIMBERRR,
Well Here I Sit Still Watching the Clock
*Yawn* are you at Least Coming Down the Block,
Im Now on My Third Popsicle
Today You Were Supposed to Teach Me How to Whistle,
Do You Just Not Wanna See Me...
Or are You Just Always Busy
...mom says your not coming

Such a sad yet typical scenario during the teenage years.
I thought you captured the feelings really well.
A great poem.
Very well done.
Clive.

Thank you Clive. Look forward to seeing more
Wait can be quite draining and can make you impatient questioning the very validity of the entire exercise. We all can relate to this smooth writing specially men :)

Thank you Avinash. Look forward to seeing and reading more. I enjoy your writing
I really like the feeling and emotion of this poem. I can see the kid waiting. I don't understand why all the words are capitalized though. I love the popsicle line, and the 'supposed to teach me how to whistle". Why are your lines all a space apart? It is on purpose? It's a bit halting to the reader. I do love the images you present here though. Thanks for sharing.

This does tug at the heart, too relatable unfortunately.
Beautifully illustrated emotional piece.

Oh Man. This one made my heart kind of hurt. Especially that last line. So many of us have heard that before. :(
