Love's Embrace

Love's Embrace

A Poem by Astro Annie
"

Someone came into a chat room and said the first line and it had such beautiful rhythm that I said I'd use it as an opening line.

"

I came to tell you I can't stay
A few short hours and then I'm gone
Though I would rather tarry here
My captain says we sail at dawn

So love me as you never have
And I will memorize your face
Excite me with your fingertips
Oh, hold me close in love's embrace

I'll leave you in your loneliness
But someday I'll return from sea
With gold and treasures I have earned
Only say you'll wait for me.

This is a tale told many times throughout history - a story of sailors and the sea. Who is the real mistress? This is a lovely rhyme. Nicely done.
