Winged Time Bomb

Winged Time Bomb

A Poem by Celestine Astraea Firestorm

everything i meant to say
every word i needed to express
sitting at the tip of my tongue
i bite my lip
gnawing until it grows numb
keeping these explosive words
from detonating a ticking bomb
never knowing when the countdown will end
and the bursting words lit with fire
will take their winged course

i read apprehension of self expression .. letting the explosion direct the course instead of intention .. excellent message and imagery in such few words .. love it

I dig it!

I'd make it all present tense: "everything I mean to say/every word I mean to express/sits at the tip of my tongue" -- 'cause that ratchets up the tension of your riveting trope, the winged time bomb, the ticking of words held in check. The unbearable explosiveness of NOW suspended.

Great premise -- bring on the winged time bomb!

I like this, its simplicity yet, abstract in imagery and concept
the style of wording and the voice justifuy this poem, and the meaning
captures an explosive with wings, like a heart about to be broken,
as the intent leaves the reader hanging perfectly, nicely written, Michael.
