Light A Match, For I Deserve To Burn

Light A Match, For I Deserve To Burn

A Poem by Celestine Astraea Firestorm

What is it that flickers deep within your eyes?
I see you trying to hide it
Lurking in your mind

(a guilty conscience maybe?)

The "No Admittance" sign flickers in my face

(I'm talking to a brick wall)

You don't even look at me anymore
I'm just an asset now
No longer the most "important" person in the world to you
Just a doll on your shelf
Growing dusty as the days, months pass on

I tried to pretend that everything was okay

...I can't pretend anymore...
