When He Left

Love had lifted her high in the clouds

Only to be cast down among the barren rocks

Witnessing this power he had over her

The day he left the grimness crushed all happy thought

Her heart once swollen from love burst

A girl who once believed in the impossible

Now lived her life like a dreamless sleep

The loneliness in her heart hanging heavy 

Like ghostly, silver leaves clinging to bare trees

Bright eyes that once sparkled like crystals

So dark and dead from which no light shines

Her thoughts becoming mad

Like a smoldering cauldron

Her thoughts so clouded and dark

All rational thoughts fading

Replaced in a world of delirium
