"I'm sorry"A Poem by AssonanceWriterI follow a dim passage to you. A well-known staircase appears, I instantly hugged you and asked you a few questions as you stood at the door. If I could have done anything differently, If I hadn't taken sufficient precautions to save you and stop this from happening to you, If only I could've taken a different approach. Would you have survived the inevitable? If perhaps I had a bigger heart, if perhaps “I could have loved you better.” Taken better care of you, Listened to you more, Capture your voice in my memory Instead of avoiding you whenever you draw near, I understand that you were a lonely individual. But you lost everything in a glimpse. Nobody stood by you, not even me. “I'm sorry,” In the midst of the day of defeat, We exchanged words of "I love you," I sat there and watched you suffer Unable to do anything, Today, there is no more you. I follow a dim passage to you. A well-known staircase appears, I instantly hugged you from behind and asked you a few questions as you stood at the door. If I could have done anything differently, Your words to me were, “It’s okay; I'm okay now.” You step out of the door and disappear. I stood there and watched you vanish into thin air Unable to do anything, “I'm sorry,” © 2023 AssonanceWriter |
