I remember the day you responded to  me how you felt before you and I let go

I felt guilty but lately, I can't comprehend

You threw my existence into the inferno, I took our odd companionship seriously

I try to throw you out but I still keep memories of us just in case

If you're wondering if I still care for you

After so much time has passed, since you won’t ever ask, I’ll tell you anyway

Even though you and I weren’t considered “Friends

I still considered you “close

Even though you won’t ever acknowledge my existence

Secretly, I admire how strong you are

In truth, I just want the life that we had

But in short, I don't really want you back

I just need you to know

That I cherish every moment that you and I had

I remember how it was always you who hurt me the most

But now that you and I are separated

I remember the day that you responded to  me how you felt before you and I let go

There’s one thing that I last need you to know

The wound would never heal entirely but,

I thank you for it though

I loved you, cared for you, and cherished you

In a way that you won’t ever know
