The tale of two lands

A Poem by Asrar
"

This poem is about two lands switzerland and Kashmir sharing same natural beauty but differs in the lives of people like how people enjoy nature in switzerland and in kashmir, how people are happy.

**The Tale of Two Lands**

In a place where mountains kiss the sky,
The lakes reflect, as days go by.
This land is beautiful, everything's pristine,
The food, the mood, the people serene.

The direction of the wind, the majestic peaks,
All seem perfect, all one seeks.
In splendor, both lands stand hand in hand,
In love, every soul feels grand.

From valleys lush, equally divine,
With charm that makes two lands entwine.
The valleys sing with a graceful embrace,
Each meadow, each river, a peaceful place.

Tall peaks wear their snow-capped crowns,
While misty mountains in the east abound.
In one land, the air is crisp and clear,
In the other, fields of saffron dear.

But differences arise, stark and clear,
Our voices are hushed, we live in fear.
In one, our tongue is taught with pride,
In the other, to speak it brings a fine beside.

To speak our minds brings risks untold,
Soon, my photo with a red mark, cold.
I carry secrets, too many to name,
One more, and I'll need a new claim.

In one place, nights are for joy and delight,
Here, shadows loom, who knows the next plight?

Liberty flows like the streams,
In the other, it remains a distant dream.
Hearts are open, despite our strife,
Economy shrunken, yet full of life.

In one land, mornings bring fresh air to inhale,
In the other, mothers check if sons prevail.
In one, nature's love freely flows,
In the other, wrath for our deeds shows.

Freedom to own, to cherish and roam,
In one, our heritage, our rights, slowly flown.
Yet, both lands teach us to endure,
To find beauty, even when unsure.

I love the place where liberty rings,
Yet mourn what’s lost, our ancestral strings.
For every dawn in a land of grace,
I yearn for peace in another's embrace.

I cherish the land for the freedom it holds,
Yet my heart aches for tales untold.

Snowfall there brings the lovers together,
But here, it hides our secrets and tears.
Still, I rush with the hope of justice,
Yet no one I trust, due to the terror.
