A realm of serene stillness

A realm of serene stillness

A Poem by Aspere

From the cliffs by the Narew,
Golden horns stand watch,
With their beauty and grandeur,
Your streets they mark.

Where the sky’s vast dome
Is pierced by archangels’ wings of white,

Where longing, sweet remembrance,
Left its indelible trace.

Where, thirsting, we pour
Golden peace into our souls,

Where the green, rocked by your whisper,
Breathes with you, a single breath.

Where streams, painted by God’s hand,
Sweep the blue depths of the world.

Where man, amidst streets and landscapes,
Falls to his knees, pleading for more,

More.

Author's Note

Aspere
This poem is a tribute to a place in my homeland – by the banks of the Narew, where, amidst picturesque landscapes, lies a small yet charming city – Łomża. I have tried to capture the beauty of both the city itself and the surrounding lands. In a sense, it is a kind of hymn in honor of this place. Within it, I’ve included references to the locations and symbols that define this city. The mention of the archangel reflects the majesty of the Cathedral, whose towers rise toward the sky. The golden horns refer to the coat of arms of Łomża, while also symbolizing the deer – a creature deeply connected to these lands, which have shaped its identity for centuries.

A fine tribute - and words to beckon visits, plus seeing whatever possible to learn its outer and inner identity. Could copy and add here, your entire post, it is written with love. Yes?

Each time I encounter the phrase "tell me something about yourself," my mind goes blank. After a brief pause, I clumsily try to assemble a few words that make sense, but the problem begins the moment .. more..
