Verily, I say unto you

Verily, I say unto you

A Poem by Aspere

Devoid of the Last Traces of Calm

The final remnants of peace slip away,
The last quiet moments, now led astray.

Sweat upon my neck, thoughts flood like streams,
A torrent of twisted veins, my silent screams.
The last of the last prophetic sighs,
Hope of return beneath darker skies.

A wave clears my vein, then fades with the tide,
And when it recedes, nothing does abide.
