I forgot about you - on purposeA Poem by Asleep
On those ordinary days, when you're trying to find a way,
To grasp the reality in just a TAD better light, So you stare into the sun's rays, for them to set your heart ablaze, But oh you silly sun-lover, so little did you know, The sun's a ball of bore that boils you right down to earth's core. The only times I feel better is in hands of murky weather, When the fog closes my eyes, and sets my mind up free, So with just a little luck, I will see a lightning struck The very top 'a mighty, who-knows-how-old tree. Then a cloud that once sailed fair, would raise it's pitch-black sails, And start spewing chaos on the dusty land below. And before I rush outside to enjoy what you despise, I will swiftly recall what others wanted me to know. They said how "never should I leave you and go alone on my adventures", It's not my choice I promise you dear, it's just how my heart ventures. I'm not saying you are worthless, nor that I consider you a surplus, But my dear umbrella, I forgot 'bout you on purpose. © 2015 Asleep |
