My Deal With The Rain.A Poem by Karina AndersonSilly and old. I was kind of infatuated with simple sonnets for a while. But it's still one of my favorites.Me and the rain? We've got a good deal. It helps me hide those things that I feel, doesn't let my tears show to those around. Let's them flow easily disguised, to the ground. I give the water drops something to fall on, something to do before the storms gone. You walk beside me, without a single clue. That the heavens tears, mix with mine for you. My hands in my pockets, eye liners running. I whisper a thanks to the rains silent humming. I watch you reach to take her hand, grip tightly. Can't breath now, chest contracts slightly. Both of you look up and glance back at me, smile and wave, neither one of you able to see. Rain does it's job, so perfectly, no one noticed. Not a single person asked, or a made a fuss. The rain and I? We look out for one another, leaking tears separately, the come together. © 2011 Karina AndersonFeatured Review
