Pray for Rain

Pray for Rain

A Poem by AllenS
"

There was a sever drought in North Texas

"
Today, Lord, the earth is thirsty
Dust fogs pickup wheels
A crusty parch shrivels winter wheat
Windmills struggle to replentish dehydrated herds

Horions seem void of promise
No trace of moisture laden clouds
Wind scours the yearning prarie
Cattle lelthargically await your blessing

Raise the bow of your covenent
Grace us with rain good God
Rain, sweet rain!

The call for the rain, it’s so small yet a wish which imploded into itself with its own necessity and urgency.

The imagery is very well created and I could almost feel the dry dust on my parched lips. Such is your imagery

I pray it rains

Poor California rain. My brother almost lost his home. The mountain fires destroyed so much free forest. Rain is our salvation sometimes. Thank you Allen for sharing your amazing words and thoughts.
