ChildhoodA Poem by AsilemI had a couple assignments today in my Creaive Writing class. We did Poetry Sketching. Its where you take a group of words and try to make a poem out of them.
Here is my first attempt with a continuation of the poem with another group of words: Words: childhood, porch, thundering, watermelon
My childhood consisted of porch-swinging, thrundering through the hills of green grass, clutching watermelon slices in our dirt-encrusted hands.
Words: Stones, whispers, castle, shoulders
We used big, heavy stones Pretending the were the walls of our royal castle. Pride holding our heads high over our shoulders. Our tales of glory, now whispers of the past.
Here is my second poem: Words: barn, empty, beauty, sunlight
He took me to the barn. We stood together under the rays of sunlight. I gazed in wonder at his angelic beauty, but his eyes, so empty of emotion, worried me. © 2013 AsilemAuthor's Note
