a true story.

You said the words I said to you
From a long time ago
Have hurt you.
I told you that i was sorry
And hadn't meant to hurt you.
But you don't believe me
You're tired of all
The crap I give you
And the pain and tears
I've caused.
You hate me for things
I didn't know hurt you
Don't you know me at all?
Don't you know that
I would never mean to hurt you?
You think that I didn't
Mean it when I said I'm sorry?
Where did you get that
Idea from?
Who's feeding you the lies?
It can't be me
Because you don't speak
To me at all.
And when you do
It's to yell at me
And blame me
For all the pain.
You think you know
What I'm all about
But you don't.
Not even a little bit.
Not even at all.
You don't know
That when you tell me
You've felt so much pain
I feel it too.
It hurts so bad
I just want to drink
That nasty lemon chemical
To punish myself.
Or maybe worse
Like jump from
The highest place I can get to
Just to rid myself
Of this terrible heartache.
Friday I said to you
That I never wanted you
To speak to me again.
That was the first
Lie I've ever told you.
You don't know how
You've changed me
As a person.
I saw who you were
And wanted to be
That way too.
But now
I'm not so sure.
I don't want to be
A person who
Just doesn't speak
To their "friend"
because they did something
That upset them
And not tell them why.
I don't want to cause
Them all the pain
That you caused me.
I'm sorry
That I hurt you.
But right now
I just want to
Forget you
And all the words
I said to you.

Life can be a trick. The pain we caused. It can return to us. I like the story and the desire to forget. I do believe in Karma. Good and bad things will return back to us. A strong ending to a excellent poem.

yes it does, makes you want to ask them flat out what they did so wrong, or why they are acting this way instead of leaving it bottled up. Even if you say something it's always a different twisted story, it's like the truth doesn't even exist anymore to some people.
